Die Engineering Manager The primary scope of this position is to provide, through direct interaction with the Engineering staff, the management of all Die Engineering projects. The position will be responsible for the quality, delivery and cost associated with each project through Die Engineering. Scheduling of Die Engineering work loads and time periods. Assignment of projects to designated Designer / Engineer in concurrence with the Engineering projects List and by priority. Support new quoting opportunities. Establish estimated hours and feasibility. Quote project cost. Maintain daily awareness of each group progress (planned hours v. actual hours). Provide design and technical input to maintain design quality and progress. Responsible for all personnel in the Engineering department, including the hiring and firing of personnel, interviewing all personnel. Expanding Die Design guide lines/procedures/work instructions. Coordinate projects w/outside suppliers, tooling vendors. Educate customers regarding project technical issues. Tracking design costs. Improvement of die design technology. Engineering degree or equivalent experience preferred. At least ten years experience in progressive dies with high speed (Bruderer) presses and processes. Mechanical aptitude & ingenuity during tool making and or die design experience.
